John. has diabetes and he requires pharmacological intervention.In persons without diabetes, hemoglobin A1c values typically range from 4% and 5.6 %. You have pre diabetes and are at an elevated risk for diabetes when blood hemoglobin A1c is around 5.7 and 6.4 percent. If your blood glucose levels exceed 6.5 percent or more, you have diabetes.
