NUR 211 Pharmacology

  • This medication is for the detoxification/maintenance and treatment of opioid addiction

  • Adverse side effects of methadone

· Obtain VS before giving med · If RR < 12 hold · Assess for voiding, bm, and check vs often if giving IV · Avoid alcohol · Do not stop taking abruptly · May produce drug dependence · Cause dry mouth, drowsiness · Watch for respiratory depression Watch for alertness

  • This medication treats Wernicke's encephalopathy and Periphera neuritis

  • Answer IV - warmth. Pruritis, uritcaria, weakness, diaphoresis, nausea, tightness in throat, angioedema, pulmonary edema

  • This med is indicated for for reducing signs and symptoms of RA, keeping joint damage
  • from getting worse, and improving physical function in patients with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis. Can be taken with methotrexate or used alone.
