Chemistry Lab 4 Report
Experiment # 4
Title: Molarity of Vitamin C
Purpose: In this lab, experiments were carried out for studying
concentration of Vitamin C
Procedure:
Titration #1
- Prepare a 10ml sample which contains 0.4659 g vitamin C or
- Add acetic acid (2-3 drops) to bring a faster reaction along with
(ascorbic acid) with and water in a beaker
a small amount of starch for an indicator all in the buret.
- Titrate iodine using a buret to determine its molarity, as the
drops are added it starts to show a yellow color then disperses
over time a grayish purple starts to show will continue until the color stays over time at least 30 seconds. Overall, it leads to a
purple overall color.
Titration #2 (orange, lemon, lime)
- The fruit (orange, lemon, lime) has already been squeezed to
make juices.
- Prepare 20ml samples of each juice into the flask and next add
30ml of water with a small amount of 2 to 3 drops of starch indicator
- Next add acetic acid (2-3 drops ) to bring a quicker reaction
