PFT - ANSWER-indentifies devieations from normal predicted values
Normal PFT - ANSWER-80-120% of predicted
Mild PFT - ANSWER-65-80% of predicted
Moderate PFT - ANSWER-50-64% of predicted
Severe PFT - ANSWER-< 50 % of predicted
Tidal Volume (VT) - ANSWER-volume of gas (air) that moves in and out of lungs in one breath
Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) - ANSWER-exhalation is done as rapidly as possible..Evaluates both large and small airways..Effort dependent..repeast 3 FVCs with variation no greater than 5%
Slow Vital Capacity (SVC) - ANSWER-exhalation is done slowly to prevent air trapping.
